U.S. Government to Stick with Blackberry, Cites RIM's Focus on Security
April 06, 2012
RIM's prospects have looked increasingly dismal over the last few weeks.
Just when it seemed as if nothing was going the embattled BlackBerry
producer's way, the Washington Post is reporting that the U.S. government has no plans to officially abandon the BlackBerry
in favor of iOS or Android devices anytime soon. RIM's focus on device
security, which is an ever-present issue in today's BYOD world, was
cited as "paramount for government use." It is certainly possible,
however, that as iOS and Android devices get more and more secure, we
could see Uncle Sam make a major transition to one or the other.
